Heartwork in Practice
Make care visible through what you do
From intention to action
Heartwork begins with attention to another person’s humanity and continues through the choices we make. A kind intention becomes useful when it changes how we listen, include, respond, and follow through.
Seven prompts for everyday practice
- Recognize: What happened, and who was affected?
- Name: What value, need, or boundary matters here?
- Choose: What respectful options are available?
- Act: What is one useful step I can take?
- Escalate: Is more support needed, and who can help?
- Receive support: What would make it easier to accept help?
- Recover: What do we need to rest, reflect, and begin again?
A simple group practice
Begin with a quiet moment. Invite participants to name one thing that helped them feel included this week. Choose one shared action for the next meeting. At the next gathering, return to the action and ask what was learned.
